You can carry your favourite sports equipment with you when you travel with us.
We’ve put together some information in the table below to help you understand the types of equipment, charges, and the maximum dimensions permitted for carrying sporting equipment on flydubai flights. All sports equipment will be accepted as part of your checked baggage allowance, subject to flydubai’s checked baggage policy.
Please note:
- A handling fee based on the dimensions of your equipment and your itinerary applies.
- Acceptance of any equipment will be subject to available space on the flight, we advise you to notify us at least 24 hours before departure.
- If the equipment is outside the dimensions mentioned below, it might be accepted for carriage for an additional charge. For assistance, please contact our Customer Centre on (+971) 600 54 44 45.
The charges mentioned below are only applicable on flydubai operated flights and may be subject to an additional service fee if paid at the airport.

Excess baggage
If your overall baggage weight, including the sporting equipment, exceeds the permitted allowance, excess baggage rates will apply.
Carrying equipment in hand baggage
You may be able to carry some sporting goods and equipment in your hand baggage if onboard space permits. These include:
- Tennis rackets
- Badminton rackets
- Squash rackets
Please ensure you do not pack items such as batteries, chemicals, flammable liquids or solids, or any other type of dangerous goods in your hand baggage. For more information, see baggage and lithium battery guide.
Restricted equipment
Pole vaults, javelins and hang gliders are restricted, and can only be accepted on exceptional basis and need to be pre-authorised by flydubai.
Packaging guidelines
All sporting equipment must be packed appropriately to avoid damage and must meet the size and weight restrictions of their allowance. We will ensure your equipment is safe and handled with care, but flydubai will follow a limited release and liability process for all sports equipment.
You must also ensure that only the sporting equipment and no other items such as batteries, chemicals, or dangerous goods are packed in the sports equipment bag.
