Connecting flights

You can transfer in Dubai to another flydubai flight without collecting your baggage in Dubai and without a UAE visa using our flydubai connect service.

So, for example, if you want to fly from Kuwait to Khartoum via Dubai, choose your destination of origin and your final destination when you search for a flight.

You'll get a booking confirmation for Kuwait to Dubai and Dubai to Khartoum. You check your baggage in at Kuwait and pick it up in Khartoum. See the flydubai baggage policy.

Please note: 

• The minimum time between connections is 120 minutes and the maximum time is 24 hours. 
• Connection bookings can't be converted to bookings with 'stopover'. 
• Fare rules will apply for rebooking and cancellation.

Connecting in Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the flydubai connect desk where your boarding pass and travel documents will be checked.

Travelling in Business Class

As business class is not available on all flydubai flights, you cannot book to travel in business class on all connecting flydubai flights.

If business class is available on both flydubai flights on a connection, we will offer a business class booking on these flights. If business class is not available on one of the legs in a connection, we cannot offer you a combination of business and economy bookings and your entire journey will be booked in economy class.

If you've bought a ticket with Emirates and part of your journey is with flydubai, you can pick up your baggage at your final destination – you won't have to collect it in Dubai.

Your journey

At some airports you’ll get a boarding pass for your entire journey, but at others you’ll only be given your boarding pass for your journey to Dubai. Emirates will give you another boarding pass in Dubai for your onward journey.

Please note:

• If you want to change your booking, you'll need to contact Emirates.
• The Emirates baggage policy applies when a through ticket is purchased to the final destination. In such cases where two separate tickets are purchased, the ticketed baggage allowance will be applicable.
• You'll need to have a valid Emirates e-ticket and the correct documents whether you check in with Emirates or flydubai
• To find out if you're travelling in economy class or business class on flydubai, you'll need to contact Emirates.

Arriving in Dubai

If you arrive on an Emirates flight, go to the central transfer desk in Terminal 3 (transfer desk K).

If you arrive on a flydubai flight, go to the transfer desk in Terminal 2.

You'll be given a boarding pass for your onward journey if you weren't given one when you checked in at the start of your journey.

Please note: the Minimum Connection Time (MCT) is 120 minutes between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Emirates codeshare passengers

Please note, passengers booked on Emirates flight numbers EK 2000 to EK 2499, will be travelling on a flydubai operated flight as part of the new codeshare agreement. If you have the flydubai booking reference shown on your Emirates booking confirmation, you can choose your seat and select your choice of meal through the Manage booking feature on flydubai.com. For all other enquires about your flight, contact the Emirates Contact Centre, emirates.com or the travel agent where you purchased your ticket.

Please note, to transfer in Dubai to or from a flydubai flight:

• The flight you book to Dubai needs to arrive at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the second flight and you need to be at the boarding gate at least 45 minutes before take-off.
• If you don't have a UAE visa, the scheduled departure of the second flight needs to be within 24 hours of your arrival in Dubai.
• Without a UAE visa, you won’t be allowed to leave the airport.

Your journey

When you arrive at the check-in desk, tell the agent you're transferring onto another flight in Dubai. You'll need to show confirmation of your onward booking and/or ticket and your travel documents. Once your documents have been checked, your baggage will be tagged for Dubai.

If you're travelling on another airline, your boarding pass for your connecting flight will be issued at the Dnata transfer desk in arrivals at Dubai International Airport.

In Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the dnata transfer desk, where you'll be checked-in for your next flight.

If you’re connecting with an airline with which flydubai has got an interline agreement and your baggage is tagged through to your final destination, your baggage will be transferred at no additional cost.

If your baggage is not tagged through to your final destination or if you’re travelling with an airline with which flydubai does not have an interline agreement, you’ll need to pay a baggage transfer fee to dnata.

Please note that the above does not apply to flight connections of more than 24 hours.

At the dnata transfer desk, you'll need to show your:

• onward ticket or flydubai booking confirmation
• valid travel documents for acceptance at your final destination
• your baggage tag if you checked in baggage at the start of your journey

Things you need to know

You need to make sure there’s enough transfer time in Dubai to connect to your next flight.

flydubai won't be responsible:

• if you miss your connection in Dubai (even if the flydubai flight is delayed)
• for your transit expenses
• for the cost of sending you back to your country of origin if you don’t have the correct documents for acceptance at your final destination
• for any fines you get because you don't hold valid travel documents

If you're connecting to or from another airline, you'll need to contact them to confirm that they'll allow you to connect with flydubai.

If you have booked separate tickets to transit in Dubai or any other city, please check the rules for connecting passengers with the concerned airline.
