When to check in online

Online check-in is available between 48 hours and 90 minutes before the flight departure time. Due to changes in passenger procedures after you’ve checked in online, you’ll still need to go to the airport check-in counter for us to verify your travel documents and issue your boarding pass.

Please make sure that your travel documents are valid and check the latest travel requirements of the country you are departing from or travelling to on our COVID-19 information hub page.

How to check in online

Website: you can use the Online check-in widget at the top of this page or go to our homepage on flydubai.com and click the Check in tab. Enter the booking reference number, the departing city or the last name and click the Check in online button.

flydubai app: download the flydubai mobile app. Log in using your Emirates Skywards number or continue as a guest. On the home screen click the Check-in icon, enter the booking reference number, the last name or flying from (departing city), and click the Check in button.

Baggage drop-off

If your flight is from Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 2, and you have bags to check in, go to the bag drop desks 19 to 22 for Economy Class or desks 23 and 24 if you are flying in business or you are an Emirates Skywards member (Platinum, Gold or Silver). There they will be tagged and accepted for the flight.

When to board the flight

You'll need to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the departure time of your flight. When you arrive at the airport go directly to one of our check-in desks where we’ll check your documents and print your boarding pass and then you’ll be on your way.

  • Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure.
  • Boarding starts 45 minutes before your flight.
  • Boarding gates close 20 minutes before flight departure.

If you arrive late, you will not be accepted onto the flight and your baggage will be offloaded.

Check-in restrictions

Once you've checked in online, you won't be able to change your booking or add/modify the optional extras on your booking.

How and when can I check in online?
You can check in online using your computer or a tablet or on your smartphone via our mobile site or the flydubai mobile app. You can check in online from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before the flight departs.
Which languages is online check-in available in?
English, Arabic and Russian.
What will I need to check in online?

To access online check-in portal, you’ll need:

  • Booking reference.
  • Last name (family name) of one of the passengers.
    OR
  • Departure airport name.

To check in for your flight online, you’ll need:

  • Personal information as shown in the passport:
    • First name, last name, date of birth, gender.
    • Nationality.
    • Passport number.
    • Passport expiry date.
    • Issuing country of the passport.
  • Mobile phone number and email address.
If multiple passengers are travelling on the same booking, can they check in online at different times?
Yes. Online check-in is available for up to nine passengers in a booking. Passengers in the same booking can check in online separately, and at different times, from 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure.
Can unaccompanied children check in online?
No. Children under 12 years old should be accompanied by a passenger (parent or guardian) travelling on the same booking, who is at least 16 years of age. Children aged 12 and over who are travelling without an adult must proceed to the airport check in desk.
Can I check in online if I am travelling with an infant?
Yes. You can check in online when travelling with an infant aged 7 days to 2 years. Infants under 7 days old are not accepted for travel with flydubai.
Can I check in online if I have a codeshare or an interline booking?
You’ll be able to check in online for all flights in your booking if your first flight is operated by flydubai. If the first flight is not a flydubai flight, you will not be able to check in online with flydubai. This applies to all codeshare and interline bookings that are not operated by flydubai.
Can I check in online if I’m travelling with a wheelchair?
Yes. You can check in online when travelling with a wheelchair, however, you will need to collect your boarding pass at the airport check in desk.
Can I add my Emirates Skywards membership number when checking in online?
Yes. You will have the option to add your Emirates Skywards number during online check-in.
How will I know if the destination I’m flying to allows me to check in online?
You can check the list of destinations with online check-in at https://www.flydubai.com/en/flying-with-us/check-in/online-check-in/.
Will I receive a boarding pass after checking in online?
Depending on the destination airport you may need to collect your boarding pass at the airport check-in desk. If you have not received your boarding pass after checking in online, please go to the airport check-in desk for verification of your travel documents, to check in any baggage and to receive your printed boarding pass.
Can I change my seat during online check-in?
Yes. You can choose your preferred seat or change your seat selection. You’ll also have the option to select an extra legroom seat at an additional cost. Seats are subject to availability and can be paid for using your debit/credit card or a flydubai voucher before checking in online.
Can I buy extra baggage during online check-in?
Yes. This is subject to the baggage policy and the eligibility of your booking.
Can I upgrade my booking from economy to business during online check-in?
Yes. Upgrades are subject to availability of Business Class seats and are for eligible bookings only. Payment can be made using your debit/credit card before checking in online.
What should I do if I have a problem checking in online or if I receive an error message?
If you are unable to check in online between 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure you will need to go to the airport check-in desk to collect your printed boarding pass. The flydubai check-in desk is open from 3 hours to 60 minutes before departure.
When is online check-in not available?
  • If your booking requires verification of your debit/credit card at the airport check-in desk.
  • If you have a special request for cabin baggage.
  • If you wish to request an extra seat.
  • If your booking includes 10 or more passengers travelling together.
  • If your booking includes two or more passengers who will travel on the same booking reference on different dates for the inbound or outbound flight.
  • If your booking includes two or more passengers who will travel on the same booking reference whereby one passenger will travel only one way and the other passenger has a return flight.
  • If you are travelling with an infant on the outbound flight and on the inbound flight the infant is booked as a child.
