Currency

The currency in Rostov-on-Don is the Russian Ruble (RUB). The capital uses a range of notes in the following denominations: 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, while frequently used coins include 1, 2, 5 and 10.

Getting around

Explore Rostov-on-Don by bus - they’re extremely efficient, inexpensive and highly reliable, although they can be tricky to understand. Familiarise yourself with the routes and stops - a GPS-equipped smartphone can be a great asset here. Alternatively book a taxi.

Airport information

Rostov-on-Don Airport is just eight km north east of the city centre. Taxis and private transfers are plentiful at the airport and if you’re looking for a low-cost option, take a marshrutka (minibus).
