Your journey from Bahrain to Baku
Your Azerbaijani adventure begins at Bahrain International Airport (BAH), about 6km from the capital, Manama. Travel there quickly and conveniently via taxi or your own car - the airport has plenty of spaces and attractive rates for long-term parking, which is accessible 24/7. Make sure you bring cash to pay for parking, as credit cards are not accepted.
On arrival, head to one of our convenient flydubai check-in counters, which open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before. You can check in with one of our helpful staff or at the self-service kiosks. To save even more time, check in online between 48 hours and 90 minutes before take-off. Drop off any baggage at the bag drop area before heading through security. Once that’s complete, all that’s left to do is relax before it’s time to board your flight. Head to the departure lounge where you can shop, pray or enjoy your pick of restaurants and cafes - as you anticipate the trip ahead.
You’ll arrive at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), approximately 25km east of Baku - about a 40-minute journey away. Once you land, head to Terminal 1’s entrance where you’ll find plenty of cabs to take you into the city. Alternatively, hop onto the Aero Express Line using a BakuCard, easily available to purchase from the BakuCard kiosk near the exit. Discover Baku
Baku was granted official UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2000 and it’s not at all hard to see why. Tucked into a picturesque port next to the Caspian Sea, this coastal city is the perfect blend of culture, liveliness, and sunshine. Soak up the rays with a long walk down the famous Danizkenari Bulvar pedestrian promenade and enjoy a unique perspective of the city from the beachside Baku Eye ferris wheel. Wander the streets and be in awe of the city’s range of architecture and history, too - from its ultramodern Flame Towers to the bustling, narrow streets of the Old City.
