Discover Tbilisi
Situated in a valley between the north and south Caucasus Mountains, the capital of Georgia boasts dramatic scenery. Tbilisi’s location at the heart of Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Iran and Azerbaijan results in an intriguing melting pot of cultures. Dine like a local at restaurants throughout the city to get a taste of its cultural diversity. It’s also worth heading up to the top of the Narikala Fortress or Mt Mtatsminda via the Funicular for the best views of the Mtkvari River, which flows next to the cobblestoned old town and alongside contemporary architecture. The modern Peace Bridge, opened in 2010, is also worth a visit, providing more beautiful views of the city.
