Your journey from Muscat to Sarajevo

Muscat to Sarajevo

Head to Muscat International Airport (MCT), where your journey to Sarajevo will begin. Load your baggage into a taxi or, if you’d rather drive, there are several car parks offering both long and short-stay parking around the airport.

Once you arrive, head for one of our check-in desks where a member of staff will be waiting to take your bags. However, if you’d like to speed up the process, you can check-in online between 48 hours and 90 minutes before take-off.

With check-in ticked off, make your way through security to the departure lounge. Here you can use the free airport WiFi while you wait for your flight in one of the restaurants or cafes.

Board the plane for the hour journey to Dubai International Airport (DXB). You’ll land here for a short stopover and then continue travelling for 5 hours and 55 minutes before landing at Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ), also known as Butmir Airport. It takes around 20 minutes to get downtown – you can either catch a taxi from the stand next to terminal B or you can hire a car.

Discover Sarajevo

The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina has shrugged off its turbulent past and today is embracing a new era in the city. Wander the lively historic centre with its Turkish feel, where you’ll discover bustling cafes and red-roofed houses each with Ottoman, Yugoslav and Austro-Hungarian elements.

Make sure you stop for a coffee - Bosnians pride themselves on the hot beverage, served with a thick foam, bitter taste and strong flavour. Green-topped mountains provide the backdrop and, come winter, resorts such as Bjelašnica and Jahorina offer the best-value skiing in Europe.
