Be flexible with your travel plans, with a choice of departures from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), just over half an hour’s drive from the city centre.

Feel free to bring the car and park up in one of the two open-air car parks. Otherwise, hop on the bus from the city to the terminal or book a private transfer.

Check-in online is open between 48 hours and 90 minutes prior to departure, or you can check-in at the airport. If you’re travelling light, head straight through to security and then relax in Colombo’s airport (CMB) departure lounge.

You’ll touch down in the heart of Dubai, where a host of transfer options await at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Luckily, you’re only a 15-minute drive from the city centre, so it’s cheap enough to take a taxi or bus downtown. Alternatively, jump on the Dubai Metro at the nearest station (Abu Hail) which is 2km away by taxi.

Discover Dubai

Nestled in the heart of the desert and framed by the azure Arabian Sea, Dubai could be a quaint, quiet destination. It’s far from that. this city is one of the UAE’s most lively and lavish states, boasting the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world) and the Dubai Fountains, which shoot breath-taking jets of water to the sound of pop songs every 30 minutes. Slow things down with a ride in an old-school abra along the Dubai Creek, or duck into a wide range of restaurants - Iranian, Palestinian, Turkish, Yemeni, whatever takes your fancy.
