Language

You’ll likely find that Egyptian Arabic is the most common spoken language in Alexandria, although classical Arabic is the official language.

Weather

Alexandria’s Mediterranean climate means you’ll enjoy warm weather when you visit. Average temperatures range from 14°C in January to 28°C in July and August.

Getting around

Travel through Alexandria either by tram, taxi or bus. Alexandria’s tram system is an inexpensive option – catch the yellow tram (number 25) from Raml Station to Ras el-Tin and Fort Qaitbey.

Airport information

You’ll be flying to and from Borg El Arab Airport with flydubai, which is 34km south-west of Alexandria. Parking and taxis are readily available, as well as car hire from the airport itself.
