Find Baghdad’s cultural heart perusing the booksellers of Mutanabbi Street, branching off from Al Rasheed Street.

Currency

While in Baghdad, you’ll use the national currency, the Iraqi dinar. Frequently used banknotes include 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000 and 50,000.

Language

The official language spoken in Baghdad is Baghdad Arabic, a dialect of the Arabic language. You’ll also find small numbers of people speaking Kurdish and Persian, among other languages.

Weather

The weather in Baghdad is warm for most of the year, with average temperatures rarely dropping below 20°C outside the winter months. Temperatures peak at around 44°C in July, with lows of 4°C in January.

Getting around

The easiest way to get around Baghdad is to use its extensive bus network. It’s very easy to move around the city and explore, with plenty of taxis available or you can also hire a car with flydubai.
