Al Rasheed Street is the main thoroughfare, where Ottoman architecture meets Mesopotamian columns, and the turquoise dome of Ḥaydar Khānah mosque peeks over the top of buildings. Language

The official language spoken in Baghdad is Baghdad Arabic, a dialect of the Arabic language. You’ll also find small numbers of people speaking Kurdish and Persian, among other languages.

Weather

The weather in Baghdad is warm for most of the year, with average temperatures rarely dropping below 20°C outside the winter months. Temperatures peak at around 44°C in July, with lows of 4°C in January.
