Language

Arabic is Riyadh’s official language but English is widely spoken, especially in business. Non-Saudis may also speak Urdu, the official language of Pakistan, and other Asian languages such as Farsi and Turkish. 

Weather

Riyadh’s weather varies seasonally. Temperatures, on average, drop to 12°C during winter months and rise to average highs of 42°C throughout summer.

Getting around

Taxis are one of the easiest and most common ways of getting around Riyadh. If you wish to explore the city and beyond, car hire is also widely available. Please note, women are not allowed to drive on public roads in Saudi Arabia.

Airport information

Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) will be where you arrive into and depart from when visiting the capital, located 35km north of the city.
