The first leg of your journey will depart from Muscat International Airport (MCT) in Oman. This ultra-modern airport is approximately 15 minutes along the coast from downtown Muscat. Private transfer or taxis are the easiest way to get there. If you’d prefer to drive to the airport, there are also more than 1,000 spaces available for use in the airport’s long and short-stay carparks.

Make your way to the flydubai check-in desks in the main terminal building. Our friendly crew will check your travel documents, give you your boarding pass and check-in any hold baggage. Then, you can make your way through the security area and explore the departure lounge.

While you wait for your boarding gate to be announced, you can browse cosmetics, technology and more in the duty-free shops. Then grab a table at one of the cafes, and enjoy some refreshments before you fly. If you’re travelling with children, there is a colourful play area which always proves popular. At MCT, there’s free WiFi throughout the airport, so you can connect your devices at any time to watch a movie or update your friends and family on your travels.

After one hour in the air, you’ll land at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and catch your second flight. Your transfer could be as short as one hour, giving you just enough time to browse the shops and facilities in this award-winning airport.

Taking to the skies for the second and final time, you’ll fly north over Iran to the city of Baku. Once you’ve passed through immigration, there are numerous ways you can head into the centre. Hail a taxi from the stand outside the arrivals hall, catch the number 16 bus or hire a car with flydubai and explore the city at your own pace.

Discover Baku

The curious contrast of medieval and modern is part of the unique fascination of Baku. At the heart of the capital, the Old City is a 12th-century maze of ornate buildings, defensive walls and decorative arches. Look over the sandy-coloured rooves however, and you’ll see state-of-the-art LED skyscrapers spearing the skyline. Aside from architectural quirks, there are plenty of other attractions to fill your time. Come face-to-face with the local wildlife at Baku Zoo, admire the wonder of nature at the bubbling Mud Volcanoes and enjoy a waterfront stroll in Milli Park - equally romantic both day and night.
